Spend an evening with Anton Miller this Saturday for a musical experience you will not soon forget! On February 9th, LSO concertmaster Anton Miller returns to the Lied Center stage for a riveting performance of Brahms’s dramatic Violin Concerto in D Major. After intermission, Miller rejoins the orchestra as concertmaster for Mendelssohn’s beloved and profound Symphony No. 3, inspired by his travels as a young man to the Scottish countryside. Witness it for yourself at Lied Center for Performing Arts!
Since giving his Carnegie Hall concerto debut, American violinist Anton Miller has appeared throughout the United States and abroad as a soloist, chamber musician, recitalist, and pedagogue. Mr. Miller has performed over fifty violin concertos with a number of orchestras on four continents. His world premiere performance of Xiogang Ye’s “Last Paradise” for violin and orchestra in Beijing, China with the Central Philharmonic Orchestra was recorded for broadcast throughout Asia and released on CD.
Mr. Miller has been concertmaster for a number of orchestras including almost thirty years with Lincoln Symphony Orchestra and the New Jersey Festival Orchestra. He was also concertmaster for an Argentinian tour of the American Ballet Theatre.
The Lied Center is a national leader in presenting artists and collaborations normally seen only in the country’s major metropolitan centers, such as New York, Chicago and Los Angeles. In recent seasons, the Lied Center has served as the venue where Yo-Yo Ma filmed a portion of his 2015 documentary “The Music of Strangers,” American Ballet Theatre collaborated for the first time with the St. Louis Symphony, and the Chicago Symphony performed on tour with Conductor Jaap van Zweden – recently appointed as Music Director of the New York Philharmonic.
Tickets to see Anton Miller begin at 15 dollars for adults. Youth 17 years of age and under may enjoy 5 dollar admission.
