In recognition of the 25th anniversary of his first hit, Toby Keith has announced his Should've Been a Cowboy Tour XXV. The trek will keep Keith on the road throughout 2018.
Released on Feb. 12, 1993, "Should've Been a Cowboy" went on to become the most-played country song of the decade; it also helped earn Keith, the sole writer of the tune, a spot in the Songwriters' Hall of Fame in 2015. Keith penned "Should've Been a Cowboy" in a hotel bathroom, after one of his hunting buddies was passed over at a bar for a cowboy.
Keith has gone quadruple platinum with two of his albums, Shock'n Y'all and Unleashed. Throughout his 25 years in country music, the singer-songwriter has ridden a consistent streak of Top 10 albums and celebrated 20-plus No. 1 singles. In 2005, he founded his own record label, Show Dog Nashville, which later merged with Universal South, in 2009, to become Show Dog Universal.
Toby Keith will bring his “Should’ve Been A Cowboy XXV Tour” to Pinewood Bowl this summer. The country star, who is celebrating the smash hit that made his career, will perform at Pinewood Bowl Amphitheater on Thursday, July 26. We hope to see you there!
