Live Music and Family-Friendly Activities Can Be Enjoyed at Nebraska Folk and Roots Festival

Living up to its tradition, the Nebraska Folk & Roots Festival is a consecutively rotating stage set up with consistent music running throughout the day, featuring local acts as well as National touring artists. This one-day festival will include a number of activities geared toward children of all ages and will be an all ages event during the daytime hours, including booths by local organizations, face-painting, community-driven activities by the ArtReach Project, KZUM and others.

Featured Acts Include: 2019 Grammy Award Winning artist (Best Bluegrass Album of the Year) The Travelin’ McCourys, Pokey LaFarge (Third Man Records), Greg Brown, Joshua Hedley (Third Man Records), The Suitcase Junket, Rainbow Girls, Kris Lager Band, Matt Cox Band, Jack Hotel, Clarence Tilton, Hope Dunbar Band, Andrea Von Kampen, Will Hutchinson, along with the 2nd Annual Dietze Music Guitar & Fiddle Competition, with preliminary rounds starting at 9am for adults and kids under 16 years old.

This will be the second year of the Dietze Music Guitar & Fiddle Competition, and the first year to announce the integration of an adult competition as well. More details to follow. Similar to the days of old in Brownville, NE and in places like Winfield, KS at the Walnut Valley Festival, there will be a grand prize winner along with numerous prizes, along with opportunities to shine in front of many festival goers on a national stage.
